Salt and Sanctuary, which has drawn several comparisons to the Dark Souls franchise, was another of the Playstation 4's solid exclusives (with a Metacritic rating of 85) this year along with Ratchet and Clank. Well, it's going to be losing that exclusivity status, as Developer Ska Studios has released a blog post that indicated that the game will be coming to Steam, along with launching its community hub. While it seems like a lot of games are getting ported to the PC nowadays, this is one of the most recent games to have released to be ported, as the game came out in March of this year.
While they don't have a specific date for the launch yet, they've indicated that they are gearing up for the PC launch, and they should know the date within the month. The two man team are being stretched thin, but rather productive as they provided a series of updates regarding various elements surrounding Salt and Sanctuary. In addition, there is a limited physical release that will be arriving for the PlayStation 4, but no time-related details are available for it. Not only that, they are looking to release the game in Japan and Asia, as they are actively working with publishers in those areas. As for those who love the soundtrack, you can now grab the soundtrack on Bandcamp here.
The bad news comes with the Vita port, as that's being handled by another developer, and they don't have updates regarding it at this point for the title which will be available when it comes out with cross-buy on PlayStation 4.
Quick Take
This is a game that I wanted to cover for my own Youtube channel, and it just didn't fall into a good timeframe. But with it coming to the PC, this is a great second chance, as I've heard nothing but good things about the game. I'll definitely be following the steam page for more information. Also, I'm really impressed that the team is only two people. Stay tuned for more news about the game in the future!
