If you play a lot of Saints Row 4 on PC and you're yet to experience any of the DLC, then Volition has a treat for you. Next week, you'll get a free upgrade to Saints Row 4: Re-Elected, which bundles in all of the game's previously-released DLC, including a bunch of new weapons and missions.
Starting from next Thursday, all Steam copies of Saints Row 4 will be upgraded to the Re-Elected bundle, which was released for consoles alongside the standalone Gat out of Hell expansion back in 2015. Saints Row 4 is also available on GOG and Epic, but both of those versions already contain all available DLC.
It's worth noting that Re-Elected doesn't include Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, as that's a standalone expansion that you'll still have to buy separately if you want to play it. Additionally, all other versions of Saints Row 4 (but not Gat out of Hell) and separate DLC packs will be removed from sale next Thursday. If you've already bought them, don't worry; your saves and mods should still work just fine.
Alongside the new Re-Elected upgrade, Saints Row 4 is also getting PC crossplay next week. This means that whether you've bought the game on Steam, GOG, or Epic, you should be able to find your friends and play alongside them. There's never been a better time to repel Saints Row 4's wacky alien invasion with your buddies.
Saints Row 4 may be nearing ten years old at this point, but the series is still going...well, perhaps "strong" is the wrong word. The eponymous reboot Saints Row launched earlier this year to decidedly mixed reviews, with reviewers and players alike citing numerous bugs and issues (which a recent update has aimed to mitigate). Nevertheless, a recent Embracer Group financial statement revealed that Saints Row still performed pretty well commercially, so there's clearly still a demand for the franchise's unique blend of sandbox mayhem.
You can grab Saints Row 4 ahead of the PC upgrade right now on Steam. It's also available on PlayStation and Xbox, as well as Nintendo Switch. The Re-Elected upgrade happens for PC players on December 8th.
