[Rumor] Youtube Gaming Leaks God of War's November Release Date

Published: June 12, 2017 7:44 PM

Just hours before Sony's E3 2017 press conference kicks off, it has come to our attention that the upcoming God of War sequel, creatively titled God of War, is yet another casualty in the great leak calamity of 2017. This time, the shot was fired from Youtube Gaming, which had, up until recently, listed November 28th, 2017 as the release date for God of War. While it's impossible to tell how accurate this listing is until later, it's worth noting that Youtube Gaming listings have been accurate for titles such as Middle Earth: Shadow of War and Far Cry 5.

God of War, revealed at last year's E3, follows Kratos and his son in a new world of myth and legend - this time based off of Norse mythology instead of the previous series standby of Greek myths and legends. While we didn't get a ton of information last year, it's safe to assume that we'll be learning a lot more about God of War at Sony's press conference later tonight, release date presumably included.

Quick Take

Honestly, I'm a pretty big fan of the God of War games. I'm a firm believer that God of War II, despite its mechanics being shallow compared to the likes of Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, is one of the greatest action games of its generation. I've played and loved every God of War title to date (Sans Ascension, which as far as I can tell, next to nobody played), but I gotta be honest - I'm just not feeling God of War. Sure, the visuals are stunning, and sure, norse mythology is always fun, but the gameplay shown last year just looked far too slow and boring for my tastes. Who knows, maybe when it's  shown again at Sony's E3 tonight it'll look better, but for now, I'll be passing on this one.
