Batman Telltale Nintendo Switch

Telltale Games' titles may be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

According to Gamespot, Nintendo Switch versions of Telltale Games' Batman and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy series may both be coming soon, according to a potential leak.

The leak in question stems from two web listings for physical copies of the games, one from the UK Site 365 Games, the other from the Russian website GameBuy. Both titles are listed as physical copies as well.

Gamespot tried to contact Telltale Games regarding the rumor, but a representative for the company stated, "Guardians of the Galaxy is slated to premiere digitally in 2017 on consoles, PC, and mobile devices." Specific devices were not mentioned, however, so it is possible that the Nintendo Switch is included in the "on consoles" bit.

Batman: The Telltale Series was released episodically last year, a review of the whole first season can be found here on TechRaptor by Samuel Guglielmo. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for its first episode to be released this Spring, along with the acclaimed The Walking Dead series. Currently, The Walking Dead is in its third season, with two episodes already released at this time.

Quick Take

The Telltale Games are a good fit for the on the go style of the Nintendo Switch. Having Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy ported to the system is also a no-brainer, adding more titles to the Switch's growing lineup of games this year. I am hoping the rumor is true, as both games would certainly bring in a lot of players to the Switch. This may also explain why Batman doesn't allow streaming through Crowd Play as well, although that is just speculation at this time.

Curiously, I am surprised The Walking Dead is not getting the same treatment, however, if the rumor is true. Perhaps Telltale has something special planned for The Walking Dead on the Switch, or perhaps the content is too graphic for Nintendo to consider. In the end, nothing is confirmed until Telltale Games says something about this, so we shall see what happens next.
