Dead Island might be making a return on next-generation consoles.

A listing found on a South African retailer Loot.co.za listed Dead Island Definitive Edition is coming out for the PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. It also gave a tentative release date for November 13th, 2015.

The listing has since been taken down, but a screenshot of the listing still remains.

The Dead Island series was first released back in 2011. The series is a action-role playing multi-player title, in the same vein as Borderlands, which has four playable character classes available as they fight their way through  a zombie epidemic on a tropical island resort. The game was a moderate success, and spawned a direct sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, and a side game, Escape: Dead Island. Both Riptide and Escape were met with mixed to negative reception.

Dead Island also garnered some controversy for their marketing program, featuring a stylish, poignant trailer of a family on vacation being attacked by the zombie hordes. The trailer showed very little of Dead Island at the time, leading people to believe the game would be just as somber in tone, which was not necessarily the case.

Dead Island 2 is currently being developed. Last week, Deep Silver announced that the development studio Yager, the team behind Spec Ops: The Line, will not continue to develop the series further. It is currently being worked on by an unnamed studio. According to Yager's Timo Ullmann, "The team worked with enthusiasm to take Dead Island 2 to a new level of quality. However, Yager and Deep Silver's respective visions of the project fell out of alignment, which led to the decision that has been made."

It is currently unknown if Deep Silver will confirm this rumor. We shall update this story as it develops.
