cyberpunk 2077 leak

Another day before E3, another rumor to throw on the pile, this time for CD Projekt Red's upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077.

A post from ResetEra has claimed that the following image (posted above) was sent to him through discord. The image itself is written in polish, and seems to be a mock-up of a version of Cyberpunk 2077, including the box art and physical extras that are given in the package.

Along with the game, players will apparently get a map of the night city, a mini art book, some postcards, an in-game soundtrack and what apparently is a copy of the Cyberpunk 2020 handbook.

The poster has dubbed it the 'standard edition' of Cyberpunk, mostly due to the standard edition of Witcher 3 containing similar extras. No price or release date was given either, though speculation suggests that Microsoft may be ready to show off the game for a release date within the next year.

As with all rumors, however, you should take this with a grain (or more) of salt.

Quick Take

Rumors like this are so tricky, especially where they are posted in places like ResetEra. Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development since 2012 at this point, so I would not be surprised if CD Projekt Red is near its official release at this point. Still, it is hard to gauge when the game will come out.

As for this rumor, it seems plausible due to the pattern of how CD Projekt Red releases products. I don't know if this is a true 'standard edition' like the poster speculates, but the overall package that is presented has enough goodies to be enticing for players. Personally, I am particularly interested if CD Projekt Red actually does include a small handbook for Cyberpunk 2020.

What are your thoughts on all of this though? Is the leak real? When will Cyberpunk be released? Leave your comments below.
