For those that are feeling creative, Roguebook, a a roguelike deck-builder from Abrakam Entertainment, the creators of Faeria, has announced a card design contest. If you're lucky enough to win the grand prize, you'll receive a Grade 9 Magic the Gathering Black Lotus that's worth $20,000. For those not in the know, the Black Lotus is the most famous card in all of Magic the Gathering, with a card in "perfect condition" and signed by the artist selling for $511,100. So yeah, it's a pretty big deal for card collectors and a great idea for a reward for a card design contest.

The contest itself will have players submitting "an original set of four cards, 1 for Sharra, Sorocco, Seifer and Aurora." Those are the four characters that players can choose from in order to make their decks. The best designs will be voted on by the Roguebook community and then presented to a jury. That jury will be composed of the developers and Richard Garfield, who is the creator of MTG and has also worked on Roguebook.

As you might expect, the winner will have their cards added into the game, which is pretty cool. You can even check out the official site to see the cards that are currently being voted on. There's not much activity right now, with the top card receiving 3 votes, but that will undoubtedly change very soon once people discover that there's a Black Lotus up for grabs.

The contest ends on September 3, 2021, so you'll have lots of time to create the perfect set of cards.
