A cool-looking header for Rogue Company.

Today, publisher Hi-Rez studios and First Watch Games have released the first gameplay trailer for their cross-platform team shooter Rogue Company, which is described as a third-person shooter with "energetic gameplay and... action movie flair."

Rogue Company is a title that features an ever-growing roster of mercenaries, game modes, and gadgets for players to play around with while taking million-dollar contracts from governments and other interested parties. The Rogue Company themselves are a vigilante force that go where the government cannot in order to stop credible and imminent threats. Now famous, they embrace their celebrity while running around and doing what they need to do.

:Gamers should be able to play with their friends, regardless of platform”, says Lussier, Lead Game Designer at First Watch Games. “Rogue Company is all about bringing together a huge community of gunslingers and giving them a depth of gameplay to show off their individual style.”

Rogue Company will be launching this summer on the Nintendo Switch, on PC via the Epic Games Store, on the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. If you want to give the Alpha try, go here.

Quick Take

This is going to be a massive bomb that no one will care about two months after it's release. It looks like a team shooter--similar to Rainbow Six Siege and Counter-Strike--that should have come out years ago if it wanted to succeed. I'm not saying I want this game to flop, but this looks like the most dated game to release in a very long time. Who actually wants a worse-looking Rainbow Six: Siege? It seems like it wants to be the Paladins to Rainbow Six but Counter-Strike: Global Offensive already exists. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
