In many ways, Psyonix's football racer Rocket League is the gift that keeps on giving. Released back in 2015, the deceptively simplistic and (also deceptively) hard to master eSports game has managed to make its way from a free PlayStation Plus game to a staple of modern competitive gaming. Since the game's release, Rocket League has had a ton of updates adding in new features, modes, cosmetic items to deck out your cars with and, of course, new vehicles to drive around in. Soon you'll be able to take the fight from your PC or gaming console to the real world with an upcoming line of toy cars based on the smash hit.
This line is made in conjunction with niche toy manufacturer Zag Toys as part of their Original Mini's line.
Starting this Spring, 12 of our iconic Battle-Cars will be available for purchase as Racers, with each car housed in its own miniature Rocket Ball. These Original Minis will be similar to the toy cars we all grew up with (or if you’re me, still play with now). Pull the Racer back on the carpet or floor, wait as the power ratchet up, and let it fly!Included in this line are the following cars: the Octane (my personal favorite), Dominus, Masamune, Hotshot, Grog, X-Devil, Merc, Backfire and 4 "limited variants" bringing the total list of cars up to 12. If you decide to get one (or two. Or a few more) there's also a chance you'll get a special code you can redeem in-game for an exclusive Rocket Trail and a new set of wheels. Every car comes packaged inside the familiar shape of the in-game ball.
You can't outright buy the one you want because these little toy cars are distributed via a blind bag system, which essentially means that which car you'll be getting depends solely on random chance. A price hasn't been released yet but we will let you know when we know!
