Harmonix confirmed today pricing details for Rock Band 4's standalone Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions.
The PS4 standalone disc will cost the industry standard $60, while the Xbox One edition of Rock Band 4 will cost $80. The $20 price difference comes from the Xbox One version requiring an adapter for the game to use 360 accessories. The "Legacy Game Controller Adapter" makes it possible for Xbox One users to use their old Xbox 360 accessories—including guitars, microphones, and drum sets—to be used on the Xbox One edition of the music game. The Legacy Game Controller Adapter supports up to four simultaneous controllers and works with a range of third party accessories.
If you happen to be purchasing Rock band 4 on the Playstation 4, you're in luck! The PS4 version of the rhythm music game does not require the Legacy Game Controller Adapter to use PS3 guitars, microphones, or drum sets. Third party instruments will also work with the PS4 version without the need for an adapter.
Harmonix also announced 10 new tracks for Rock band 4 today. The tracks range from Artic Monkeys to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The full list of songs is as follows:
- Tijuana Sweetheart – "Pistol Whipped"
- Soundgarden – "Superunknown"
- Lucius – "Turn It Around"
- Little Big Town – "Little White Church"
- Cake – "Short Skirt/Long Jacket"
- Arctic Monkeys – "Arabella"
- The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – "The Impression That I Get"
- The Protomen – "Light Up The Night"
- 38 Special – "Caught Up In You"
- The Both – "Milwaukee"
Rock Band 4 is slated for an October 6th, 2015 release date for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. In addition to the prices stated above, you can buy the game bundled with a guitar for $130, or with a guitar and drum set for $250.
