Developer Chime Corporation and publisher Spike Chunsoft revealed their upcoming tactical adventure game, Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World, is coming to PC and consoles this winter. The title is a Japanese light novel series, inspired by the popular anime written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka. The series is already expecting its second season sometime next month in July.
Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World returns Subaru to the Kingdom of Lugunica following the news of postponing royal selection. The Dragon Stone's prophecy has five candidates fighting for the crown. However, there are six candidates present when Subaru returns. Your mission is to find who is faking it and the lies "beyond the mysterious web of assassinations, betrayal, and conspiracies."
Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World promises to have an original storyline, and even brand new characters. The developer aims to deliver an authentic experience set within the anime's universe, under the supervision and guidance of the original artist and authors.
There will be two special editions for those interested in getting a few additional bonuses beyond the game. The Day One and Collector's Editions grant you a range of physical and digital items to enjoy. The latter offers you the chance to enjoy:
- 4 exclusive, limited-run only original pins in a display box, featuring a brand-new character yet to be revealed
- A full-color art book including concept art
- Commentary with a special foreword from the creators
- SteelBook collector's display case
- The official soundtrack
- The Collector's Edition box
As for the Day One Edition, it will give players the four exclusive pins, with the same characters offered in the Collector's Edition.
The game features English localization in both audio and text formats. Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World publishing in North America will be handled by Yen Press. There is no set release date yet, but expect it sometime this winter for PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
