Returnal is a challenging game and it's not too easy to score some of the tougher Trophies, but you'll soon get a second chance — Trophy replay support arrives in Returnal Update 1.4.0 next week.
In Returnal, a woman named Selene crash lands on an alien planet that's filled with deadly enemies. Not even death is an escape — strange technology revives her every time she falls in battle. Now, a brand-new update has been announced that will enhance your chances at scoring some of the more difficult Trophies in the game.
What's New in Returnal Update 1.4.0?
One of the biggest additions in Returnal Update 1.4.0 is support for replaying certain Trophies. If you missed out on certain Returnal Trophies in Act 1 & Act 2, you'll soon have an opportunity to try again. Additionally, Housemarque has added support for retroactively awarding Trophies which cannot be replayed again.
A whole bunch of bug fixes have arrived in this update, too. For example, multiple issues that could have caused Selene to become trapped in a room have been fixed as part of this update.
Also arriving are several gameplay balance improvements. Aside from fixing certain malfunctions that could have negatively impacted the game balance, Returnal's enemies, weapons, and bosses have had their difficulty adjusted to provide a "more balanced gameplay experience" overall according to the patch notes.

When is the Returnal Update 1.4.0 Release Date?
The Returnal Update 1.4.0 release date is Monday, June 14, 2021, at 5:00 AM Eastern Time. As always, keep in mind that the game will close down if automatic updates are turned on at the time of the update.
Returnal is tough enough in its own right and these bug fixes and improvements to Trophies should give players a better chance at beating some of the more difficult challenges.
