Get ready for some multiplayer survival horror action — the Resident Evil: REVerse release date is set for Summer 2021, placing its launch not too long after the debut of Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil: REVerse is a bonus game that's included with your purchase of Resident Evil Village. Unlike pretty much every other game in the franchise, Resident Evil: REVerse is going to be a multiplayer game featuring iconic characters that fans are well-familiar with.

Previously, the multiplayer game Resident Evil Resistance launched as a bonus for buying Resident Evil 3, but that game focused on co-op multiplayer for most of the characters. REVerse, on the other hand, will be all about rapid multiplayer deathmatches for 4–6 people. Get taken out by one of the other players and you'll transform into a deadly bioweapon that can turn the tide!

This upcoming multiplayer experience was first leaked earlier this year before finally being confirmed as an actual product. That said, we really had no idea when this game would be launching — would it be a simultaneous launch or would it arrive sometime after Resident Evil Village? Now, it appears we have our answer.

When is the Resident Evil: REVerse Release Date?

The Resident Evil: REVerse release date will be sometime in the Summer of 2021. That means the earliest we'd likely get it is June 20, 2021, although it's probably more likely that it will arrive later.

A screenshot of an e-mail shared on Twitter by @RE8countdown notes that "The service is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2021." A similar statement is echoed on the latest version of the game's official website.

For now, it looks like Resident Evil: REVerse will be an exclusive bonus for people who purchase Resident Evil Village, much like how Life is Strange Remastered is being given to people who buy the best editions of the new Life is Strange: True Colors game. That said, there is a dedicated Resident Evil: REVerse Steam Store page, so we may very well see a standalone release at a later date.

Are you looking forward to the Resident Evil: REVerse release date? Do you think the gameplay of Resident Evil lends itself well to multiplayer? Let us know in the comments below!
