Today Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a brand new CG animated movie titled Resident Evil: Death Island.
The film will be released this summer, and it will feature Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Jill Valentine. Not much else is known for now, considering that this was a little more than a tease.
The announcement was made with a trailer, which you can watch below.
While the trailer doesn't say much besides providing hints on the setting and the presence of Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Jill Valentine (who appears right at the end), here's an official description providing a bit more color on what we can expect.
"D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them."
If you're interested in the Resident Evil series but you care more about video games, the most recent title of the series is Resident Evil Village, of which you can read our review alongside that of the story DLC Shadows of Rose.
Capcom is preparing to release the Resident Evil 4 remake, which will be launched on March 24, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, following in the footsteps of the remakes of the first three games, which have been quite popular among the fans of the series.
