As UploadVR reports, Resident Evil 4 VR sales have been pretty damn good. It hasn't just become the fastest-selling Meta Quest 2 app to date -- it managed to hit this milestone in just one week.
"Resident Evil 4 has become the fastest-selling app in the history of Quest**, and we were honored to see it receive a “Best of VR” nomination at The Game Awards alongside other incredible 2021 releases," read a blog post on the Quest 2 website (via UploadVR).
This sales milestone was based on the gross sales in the first week of launch. It's unclear exactly how many units this game has sold, but it goes to show that big-name games can still make a splash in the walled garden of the Meta Quest 2. That's great news for Meta, especially since it has announced GTA: San Andreas is coming to the Meta Quest 2 (and other GTA games may be on the way, too).

Aside from the fantastic sales, the Resident Evil 4 VR: The Mercenaries add-on has been confirmed by Meta. That's certainly good news for anyone who may have been concerned that the bonus content in Resident Evil 4 might be left by the wayside in the VR version.
The Mercenaries is a minigame in Resident Evil 4 that can be unlocked by completing the main game on any difficulty. Players are tasked with killing enemies to score as many points as possible before an evacuation chopper arrives; should they survive, their performance will be ranked on a 5-star system.
