Research and Destroy

The Research and Destroy release date is soon upon us, and players will be able to gather their friends and fight against supernatural hordes on April 25, 2022. As a turn-based action title with local and online co-op, players will be able to control three scientists as they look for the supernatural source during each campaign that offers a different playthrough every time.

Through battlefield vivisections, players will be able to research and develop new weapons and gadgets to take on the hordes, and then destroy them through a combination of turn-based strategy and real-time shooting. Players will also be able to tailor their scientists' appearance and drop in and out of local and online co-op with friends at any time.

Chris Willacy, Daniel Markiewicz, Kees Gajentaan, members of the Japan-based indie development team at Implausible Industries, had some thoughts for the Search and Destroy release date:

We drew inspiration from a wide variety of 20th-century comics and TV cartoons to create the look and feel of the game world. Bringing a cartoony art style to a game is something we've wanted to do for a long time. Creating a "weird science" setting for a Turn-based Action game allowed us to come up with all sorts of unique weapons and fascinating gadgets while adding a healthy dose of humor to the game. Keep your eye out for plenty of daft references, dumb dad jokes, and light-hearted Easter eggs while you're playing. We had a great time putting them in and trying to craft something that has something to say but isn't too serious about how it says it. We hope you'll join the fun with us on April 25th.

There's also a demo available on Steam right now, so if this sounds groovy to you, be sure to check it out before its release date.
