PQube has been on-point regarding Valkyrie Drive. Just a few days ago we covered that the company was bringing the title to the west. We also covered why the title would release uncensored. Now the game already has a release date and a Rice-Digital Limited Edition planned! Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkuni will release on September 16th in the west on PlayStation Vita, with a special "Liberator's Edition" as well as a standard physical and digital release on the platform. Regular pre-orders of the physical editions of Valkyrie Drive will also be getting a goodie with a set of 8 art cards.
The game's Rice-Digital exclusive Limited "Liberator's Edition" includes the 8 art cards from the regular edition pre-order, a "Peach Skin" Vita case, the game's official soundtrack, and an artbook packaged with the game in a "high quality Presentation Box" designed by Kenichiro Takaki. The LE will go for $80 USD or whatever your regional equivalent is. It may or may not be worth noting, but the LE is exclusive to the UK version of the game. This shouldn't be too much of an issue since the Vita is region free!
As we've already covered, Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkuni is a series very similar to Senran Kagura, but with a twist - instead of playing as a variety of well-endowed high-school ninjas, players control a team of 2 women: one that turns into a super weapon when aroused, and another that can wield said super weapon. All sorts of Senran Kagura staples such as destructible clothing and fast-paced third person juggling action are here as well. If all of that isn't up your fancy, the title eventually received a Smash Bros-esque game mode after several updates in Japan.
With all that out of the way; what are your thoughts on today's announcement? Will you be picking Valkyrie Drive up when it releases in a little over 2 months time? If so, what are your thoughts on the games' new Liberator's Edition? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
