Release date and special edition content of Total War: Attila revealed

SEGA sent out a press release earlier today, revealing the release date of Total War: Attila, the latest addition to the Total War series. The game will be released the 17th February 2015 worldwide. In the same press release, SEGA also detailed the pre-order bonuses and the content of the special edition.  [youtube]
 Those who pre-order the game, will receive the DLC "Viking Forefathers Culture Pack" along with the game. The DLC pack adds 3 additional playable factions to the game: The Danes, The Jutes and The Geats. The pack can be bought separately for 7.99$.

SEGA also detailed the bonus content for those who purchase the special edition of the game. Total War: Attila's special edition will contain:

  • Attila The Hun Biography Written by Nic Fields and published by renowned military history specialists Osprey Publishing, this brand-new Attila The Hun Biography is based on the latest academic research and theories. Beautifully illustrated with maps, archaeological photographs and specially commissioned artwork, it details the life, times and dark deeds of one of history’s most infamous warlords. This biography is only currently available as part of the Total War: ATTILA Special Edition.
  • Reference Guide Poster o This double-sided poster features original Total War: ATTILA campaign map artwork on one side, and a comprehensive playable faction reference guide on the other.
  • Viking Forefathers Culture Pack o Whether pre-ordered or purchased at launch, the Total War: ATTILA Special Edition includes this significant pack of content featuring three additional playable Norse factions.
Total War: Attila is set during the fall of the Rome. The territory that once was ruled by the most powerful empire of ancient history, is now plagued by pestilence and hunger. On the eastern Europe, warlords fight for power. Among those, Attila is the most ambitious one. He marches with a million riders and his target is Rome itself.

Total War: Attila will release the next 17th of February on PC and Mac in both physical form and digital distribution.
