After so many years Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally arriving in the west tonight and while this release has been marred by all kinds of early releases, leaks, and more many fans are still patiently refreshing their tracking orders. Square Enix has released an English version of their recap of the franchise history to refresh those who either haven't played recently or are new to the franchise.

Voiced by the Dream Eater Chirithy, from Kingdom Hearts Union X, this series of 5 videos go over the series of events from Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. There is a video focussing on Riku's journey behind the scenes as he tries to bring Sora back from the events of Chain of Memories and ultimately embraces his darkness. The final video highlights the series antagonist Master Xehanort and his experiments with Ventus and the fate of the Wayfinder Trio.

While highlighting the events of the games a major emphasis is placed on the relationships that Sora has to those around him. Not only his relationship with his two closest friends, Kairi and Riku, but also his relationship to the other series trios like Roxas, Axel, and Xion and Terra, Ventus, and Aqua.

These videos give context to the characters, relationships, and the ultimate goals of the antagonist leading us right up to where our journey in Kingdom Hearts 3 will begin with the assembling of 7 pure lights and the 13 pure darknesses. From previous trailers, we have already seen some scenes as to the gathering of all of these pieces but only when we have our hands on the full game will we hopefully get filled in on the whole picture.

Now, if you want to know what's happened in the real world since Kingdom Hearts 2 was released, we've got an article all about the various things that have happened since that fateful day.

Do you think that the playlist did a good job of highlighting the important parts of the Kingdom Hearts lore? Is there anything big you feel they missed out on? Let us know in the comments below!
