Red Dead Redemption 2 is already set to be the game of the fall season if not the entire year of 2018, with other new releases fleeing from it in terror into 2019. So, it’s not exactly a surprise that this saga of epic proportions is going to be released on a two-disc set, as recently revealed.

Previously released photos of the Japanese box art of the game clearly show a double disc icon, and this was recently confirmed by pictures posted on Twitter by Canadian Youtuber Kofi.

Kofi’s status also confirms that the game comes with a physical map, although he is declining to share pictures of that at the present time. It’s also worth noting that both of these confirmations do come from PlayStation 4 copies of the game, and not from Xbox One versions.

The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be released on two discs isn’t much of a surprise to those following the news. It has already been revealed that the game is going to take up a sizeable amount of space – approximately 99GB for the PlayStation 4 and 107GB for the Xbox One version, when installed via disc. For digital downloads, the game will require an extra 50GB of space on the PlayStation 4 for the installation process, though it’s still 107GB on Xbox. It is important to note that these numbers apply only to the base copy of the game and that the Special and Ultimate editions will be significantly larger.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to be released by Rockstar Games on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
