The Red Dead Online Moonshiners Frontier Pursuit has been announced by Rockstar Games.
Back in September 2019, Rockstar Games announced a new element for Red Dead Online called "Frontier Pursuits". Essentially, these were jobs that the player could take on to unlock specialized equipment and earn some money in-game.
The first three of these Frontier Pursuits were the Bounty Hunter, Trader, and Collector. Now, the Red Dead Online Moonshiners Frontier Pursuit is being added to the game — and it's a little different from the original three.
Traders Can Transition to the Red Dead Online Moonshiners Frontier Pursuit
Unlike the original three Frontier Pursuits, becoming a Moonshiner is a little more involved as noted in the Rockstar Newswire article announcing the new feature.
To start, players will have to be a Trader before they can become a Moonshiner; this makes the Moonshiner Frontier Pursuit a Prestige Class of sorts. Once you've completed a sell mission or reached Rank 5 in the Trader progression, you'll be able to make an NPC named Maggie Fike. Maggie is an experienced bootlegger who lives at Emerald Ranch, and she'll help you get your bootlegging business off of the ground.
Once you're underway, you can purchase an unassuming Moonshining Shack. It looks like any other normal building, but the real fun is in the basement where you're illicitly brewing booze.
As you progress in this new Frontier pursuit, you'll undertake quests via Maggie that can be played alone or with friends. Help her get revenge on the people who tried to take her down, and you might also eliminate a rival operation while you're at it.
Eventually, you'll be able to set up your own underground bar that serves your own bootleg liquor. Of course, you'll also be able to customize its look and even build a dance floor with an accompanying country band.
This new Frontier Pursuit will be arriving in Red Dead Online on December 13, 2019, along with Outlaw Pass No. 2, the new Navy Revolver, and more.
