A patch is being made for the newly released Microsoft exclusive ReCore to address a major issue. In particular, ReCore was noted for having excessively long load times, especially on consoles and this patch will be addressing that.
On the game's official website, Pamela Wang announced that the title would be receiving an update on Xbox One and Xbox One S. Wang made sure to let players know that they were paying close attention to the community. She mentions that long loading times were the biggest complaint regarding the title. Thus, the developers of the game have worked on an update to get the game working more smoothly.
Though not giving an exact date, the release of ReCore's upcoming patch is "this week" according to Wang. However, she warns that larger areas of the game may still take longer to load. This is simply due to the size of these areas. Unfortunately, a patch will not be able to significantly decrease those loading times. Due to the size of these areas it just isn't feasible according to Wang.
This update comes in the wake of ReCore's rather less than stellar launch. Reviewers have met the game with a decidedly lukewarm reception. Currently, ReCore sits at 62% on OpenCritic and 63% on Metacritic. In fact, TechRaptor's own Samuel Guglielmo gave ReCore a scathing 3 out of 10 review score, stating "The worst is when I got killed, the game putting two loading screens back to back whenever this happened, leaving me entirely unsure of why and missing two minutes of my time."
I'm pretty glad to see that this game is getting the tweaks it needs. After I saw the names attached to this game, I was very excited to play it. However, the more I saw the more I wondered if it was going to be as good as I envisioned. I hope that the game manages to do well, and I do plan on buying it myself in the near future to see if it's really as "meh" as everyone seems to believe. What do you think?
