Published by Kasedo Games and developed Dapper Penguin Studios (Rise of Industry), Recipe for Disaster is a restaurant management and social simulator game where players start as a head chef and work to become an internationally renowned restaurateur (think Gordon Ramsay). Players will explore the complex social relationships between restaurant staff and customers, as well as the consequences both funny and disastrous of poor management in the service industry.
“We’re thrilled to be able to announce our continuing relationship with Kasedo Games following our work together on Rise of Industry,” said Alex Mochi, Founder of Dapper Penguin Studios. “We wanted to create a different experience from a standard restaurant tycoon, focussing [sic] on the social aspects of the industry, rather than just the day-to-day management. This emphasis on people is what makes Recipe for Disaster truly unique.”
“Anyone who has worked in the hospitality industry knows of that one colleague or customer that makes their day more difficult than it needs to be,” continues Mochi. “Recipe for Disaster embraces those characters and challenges players to overcome those difficulties while still providing a quality service.”
Players will be able to pick from a pool of procedurally generated hopeful employees that will have their own unique traits and skill levels. This might affect their work efficiencies, relationships, and customer interactions. You will also be able to customize your design and layout of your restaurants such as your kitchen with its needed appliances, decorate your dining area, and build storage for your ingredients.
Tasks can also be assigned to your team to keep everyone busy using a customizable priority system. You will have to keep a close eye on incoming customer orders and adjust your strategies to ensure that both customer service and food are at the highest possible quality. There are also updates planned in the future for cooperative and competitive multiplayer, modding support, and health inspections among other things.
