Tactical This Is The Police spinoff Rebel Cops has a new survival mode. It's called Rebel Yell and you can download it right now if you're playing the game on PC.
In Rebel Yell, your goal is to survive as long as you can against endless waves of enemies. You'll play as four randomized cops, each with random perks and skills. Those cops will start out with knives, but you'll have to scavenge everything else - weapons, ammo, items - from the battlefield. Each round of Rebel Yell ends, naturally enough, when you fail. There's no win condition here, so just have fun and see how long you can hold out.
PC players can download Rebel Yell for Rebel Cops right now via a free update on Steam. If you're playing on consoles, you'll have to wait a little longer. Developer Weappy Studio and publisher THQ Nordic say they're working on the console update and that it'll be available "later this October". No word yet on a specific release date for the Rebel Yell mode on consoles. We'll bring you more on that as we get it.
There are a couple of other new additions as part of the Rebel Yell patch. You can now switch on infinite saves from the menu on any difficulty. No more losing your save files because you ran out of slots. Also, when you finish the game, you'll automatically unlock achievements for beating it on lower difficulties. Lastly, there are a bunch of (mostly invisible) bug fixes and tweaks that should make your time playing Rebel Cops a bit smoother.
Rebel Cops is a stealth-focused turn-based tactics game set in the This Is The Police universe. Criminal mastermind Viktor Zuev has taken over the town of Ripton, and no police officers are brave enough to stand up to him. You take control of a squad of - you guessed it - rebel cops determined to take him down. Along the way, you'll take part in turn-based tactics missions to help Ripton townsfolk, make complex moral decisions, and build up your street cred.
You can grab Rebel Cops right now on Steam. It's also available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
