A Kickstarter success story, Read Only Memories came out on October 6th, 2015. Now it seems that the game will be getting a huge update, one so big that developers MidBoss has decided to change the name of the game to go with it.

Going to change the title to 2064: Read Only Memories, the game will be seeing a host of updates. One of the biggest one is the inclusion of voice acting. All characters will be getting voiced, and while there hasn't been much in the way of confirmed actors yet, MidBoss did share that Melissa Hutchison will be playing the role of your robot companion Turing. Hutchison is most well known for her role as Clementine in Telltale's The Walking Dead games, and is a Telltale veteran having parts in The Wolf Among Us, Back to the Future: The Game, and several Sam & Max games.

Besides this the update will also include new characters and new animations for already existing characters. The update will also see the game released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. There is currently no announce release date or price point for 2064: Read Only Memories, but MidBoss has said that anyone who already owns the game will be getting it for free.

While the update may be free for current owners, it seems MidBoss has silently bumped the Steam price of the game up another $10 for new purchases. Read Only Memories launched at $14.99, but dropped down to $9.99 near the start of the year.

Midboss also took the time to announce an iOS/Android/Kindle Fire version of the game, titled Read Only Memories: Type-M, releasing as well. There's no word yet on if this version of the game will just be a port of Read Only Memories or if it will be modified in some way.

Read Only Memories last got a major update back in January. This update most notably added a post-game chapter titled Endless Christmas. Read Only Memories is also notably one of the games that got funding assistance through Ouya's Free the Games Funding, which saw Ouya doubling a game's Kickstarted pledge in return for six months of console exclusivity. Other games funded through this program include Neverending Nightmares, Dex, and Catlateral Damage.

We have reached out to MidBoss about the price change and other information but did not immediately hear back. We will update when we hear more information.

Read Only Memories is currently available on Steam, Itch.io and Humble Store for $19.99, or on GOG for (now at least, until a likely update) $9.99
