Last month saw the end of summer and the start of a new school season for a lot of gamers. With that in mind, it's time to take a look back at Raptr’s most played PC games for September 2014.Overall play-time dropped just over 10% from August, but that didn't stop League of Legends from holding its spot atop the list for the sixth straight month. League of Legends accounted for more than 22% of total PC gameplay tracked by Raptr, though the total hours tracked dropped 2% versus August. Early September updates featuring new characters and items likely helped the game avoid a more drastic decrease in play-time.

World of Warcraft, saw a 10.55% drop in overall play-time, but that was still enough to keep it in the number two spot for September. In July, Blizzard hoped to revitalize the player-base with a 50% off sale for its Mists of Pandaria expansion, which seemed to have worked temporarily.  Blizzard's End of Summer promotion, running until September 26th, which included a free digital copy of the game, along with 30 days of game time and all of the content from The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm, didn't seem to have the same effect.

DOTA 2 once again found itself in the number three spot for the month, in spite of suffering a nearly 17% loss in play-time from August, just barely beating out Diablo III. DOTA 2's less than half a percent victory can most likely be attributed to its series of end-of-the-month updates that adjusted Gold Bonuses, XP factors and Kill Streak Bounties. Meanwhile, Diablo III began its first Season on August 29th, causing play-time to rise 86.55% in September and propel the game into the top 5 for the month.

Smite dropped out of the top 5 for September, however, even having received a major update early in the month. Other notable changes to the list include The Sims 4 appearing for the first time at number sixteen. Given the lukewarm reception to the game, though, The Sims 4 is likely to slip from the list altogether in October.

As always, a complete list of the top 20 is below, and for a more detailed breakdown of that list, visit http://caas.raptr.com/.
