Ubisoft's consistently popular tactical first-person shooter, Rainbow Six: Siege, is set to receive another year of content. In a clear sign of dedication to the game, Ubisoft has announced that the new year will feature eight new Operators, two new maps set in Italy and Morocco, and a redesign of an existing map. Furthermore, Year 3 will feature the debut of the game's first co-op event, Outbreak, which will be playable for free for four weeks.

As always, the year will be divided into four Seasons, starting off with Operation Chimera. Chimera will include two new biohazard specialists from France and Russia and you will get a chance to try them out in Outbreak. While the specifics of Chimera are currently rather scant, more details are set to be revealed at the Six Invitational 2018 in Montreal, with a full debut planned for the event. According to Rainbow Six: Siege's proposed Year 3 roadmap, the Italian Operators and map will be released during Season 2, an American and British Operator will be released alongside a map rework in Season 3, and the Moroccan Operators will be introduced into the game along with their new map in Season 4.

In addition, Rainbow Six: Siege will have a Year 3 Season Pass that will be available for purchase on December 12. It should be noted that when the Year 3 Season Pass becomes available for purchase, the Year 2 Season Pass will be phased out. That means that if you don't want to grind for Mira, Jackal, Ying, Lesion, Ela, Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Zofia, then December 11 will be your last chance to get the eight Operators alongside some customization options for $30.

Naturally, things can always change when announced this early in advance, so while Year 3 might sound like a great thing for Rainbow Six: Siege, it might be for the best to keep your expectations somewhat grounded. After all, no one expected Operation Health until it completely interrupted Year 2, even if it did result in some positive changes for the game.
