Update (1/18/21, 2:15 PM) – The Rainbow Six Quarantine release date listed on the game's Ubisoft Connect page was in error according to an Ubisoft spokesman.

As IGN reports, an Ubisoft spokesman confirmed to the outlet that the date is incorrect. The game is targeted for a release sometime in Fiscal Year 2021 — that's anywhere from April 1, 2021–March 31, 2022 — and the listing of an earlier release date appeared to show that the game's launch was surprisingly pushed forward.

The erroneous Rainbow Six Quarantine release date is still listed on the game's Ubisoft Connect page at the time of writing. Ubisoft did not otherwise confirm a specific release date.

Our original story continues below.

The Rainbow Six Quarantine release date has been quietly revealed today, two and a half months after the game was disappointingly delayed towards the end of 2020.

Rainbow Six Quarantine is a game loosely based on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise. Ubisoft has released several games based on Rainbow Six and other Tom Clancy properties, but this new title diverges somewhat from the gameplay and narrative players typically expect.

Check out the Rainbow Six Quarantine teaser trailer to get a feel for its vibe — clearly, this game is very different from what gamers are getting in Rainbow Six Siege.

Rainbow Six Quarantine was first revealed back at E3 2019 with the above teaser trailer, setting the tone for a tactical game with a spooky flair. At the time, Ubisoft said that the Rainbow Six Quarantine release date would be sometime before April 2020.

Unfortunately, things don't always go to plan. The absolute dumpster fire that was 2020 also resulted in a lot of games being delayed and Rainbow Six Quarantine was one of the affected titles. It wasn't the only affected game, though — Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 was also pushed back a few months.

Aside from the teaser trailer, we know that the game has some similarities with Rainbow Six Siege, a game that had its own zombie-fighting game mode with its "Outbreak" co-op event back in 2018. Ubisoft has more or less turned that game mode into a fully-fledged title, and now it looks like it might have just locked in a new release date for Rainbow Six Quarantine.

When is the Rainbow Six Quarantine Release Date?

The Rainbow Six Quarantine release date will be March 21, 2021. The game will initially be launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

This new release date was revealed on the game page for the title on Ubisoft Connect (via Reddit). Unfortunately, the update to the game page is otherwise short of details save for a short snippet.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine™ is a 3-player squad-based tactical FPS where your team of Rainbow Six operators will face off against a mysterious threat infecting human hosts and their surroundings.

There's still a lot we don't yet know about the game — including what it's going to cost to play it. (As a point of comparison, Rainbow Six Siege retails for $19.99.) For now, you can look forward to playing Rainbow Six Quarantine in roughly two months.
