Train fans are a special bunch - it takes a certain kind of person to spend hundreds of dollars on a single model car. They'll soon have a new toy to play with that will cost considerably less than something from Lionel - Railroad Corporation will be coming to Steam in Early 2019.

Railroad Corporation is all about the era of the steam engine. Set in the 19th century, players will be creating their very own railroad company from the ground up. Rather than take place on a tiny map, you'll be tasked with laying track across a large area of land, connecting multiple towns together and moving critical cargo and passengers to where they're needed.

Have a look at the game's reveal trailer in glorious 4K to see all of the captivating choo-choos rolling along:

Developed by Corbie Games and published by Iceberg Interactive, Railroad Corporation will feature historically-accurate locomotives from the heydey of the American frontier. The rails have many perils, though - you won't just have to manage your fleet. Political power is all too important in defending your empire against rival companies.

You'll also be able to invest your money in the burgeoning stock market, turning your profits into tangible equipment for your empire on rails. Make the right business decisions and you can command a fortune that would make Cornelius Vanderbilt blush. What's more, you'll be able to play the game solo or against a friend.

If Railroad Corporation sounds like a good bit of fun, you won't have to wait too long to play it - it'll be available on Steam sometime in Early 2019. In the meantime, you can head on over to its Steam Store page and add it to your wish list.

I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
