Corbie Games and Iceberg Interactive's train sim Railroad Corporation is leaving the Steam Early Access station this November. The game originally launched its maiden voyage back in May.
Railroad Corporation offers players the chance to relive the glory days of the Golden Age of Steam (no, not that one). Your goal is to build and maintain your very own railroad empire across 19th century North America. Along the way, you'll wrestle with rivals, research and build new technologies, and develop your character. This being a simulation, there's naturally plenty of micromanagement and diplomacy to engage in as well. You can check out the launch date trailer for Railroad Corporation below:
If you love train sims, you'll find lots of content to wrestle with in Railroad Corporation. There's a campaign mode, naturally, in which you'll build your empire and try to beat out your rivals. You'll also find a Sandbox mode, which allows you to focus fully on expanding your corporation and your train network. The Challenge mode pits your train wits against a series of specific scenarios. Finally, there's a Multiplayer mode, in which you and a friend can compete to be the first to earn a certain amount of cash.
Railroad Corporation will leave Steam Early Access in November. On the game's official Steam page, developer Corbie Games says it intended Railroad Corporation to stay in the program "for around 4 to 6 months". Given the original May launch date, the studio seems to be on schedule, which is encouraging. You can buy the game right now in its Early Access state if you want to. Doing so will net you access to the first Campaign chapter, a full tutorial, and the multiplayer beta. The Early Access version's a little cheaper than the full game, too, so get your oar in now if you're interested.
