PQube announced that adventure visual novel Punch Line will come to PS4, PS Vita and PC on August 31st in Europe, and September 25th in North America. Written by Zero Escape producer Kotaro Uchikoshi, Punch Line is based on the anime series of the same name. The major production staff of the anime returned for its game adaptation, and all of the voice actors reprised their roles as well. PQube also announced that a special limited edition of Punch Line will be available that comes with a 120-page artbook. You can pick up Punch Line for your PS4, PS Vita or PC starting at the end of August.
Yuuta Iridatsu is a normal teenager with a very peculiar problem: he faints when he sees panties. To make things worse, after a bus he's riding in is hijacked, his soul is separated from his body. Now in this ghostly form, seeing too many panties overstimulates him, and causes an asteroid to crash into Earth. The one perk of being a ghost, however, is that he can now travel back in time in order to prevent the apocalypse from happening. In the meantime, you can pull pranks on your housemates, solve puzzles in point-and-click sequences, and master your poltergeist powers.
If Punch Line's plot sounds outlandish, then you might want to check out some of Uchikoshi's other games. Primarily a visual novel designer, he got his start with the Infinity series back in 2000. He then wrote several followup stories in the saga, before getting a huge break with the Zero Escape trilogy. Many of his previous works involve labyrinthine mysteries and a tightly interwoven plot. Punch Line was reviewed positively in Japan upon its release more than two years ago, and clearly sold well enough to warrant localization. You can dive into the mysteries of Punch Line for yourself when it releases on August 31st in Europe or September 25th in North America.
