Now that PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS has been out on consoles for a while now, the inevitable has happened: PUBG Crossplay has arrived for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Simply put, this means that players on the Xbox One will be able to face off against players on the PlayStation 4 and vice versa. (PC players, of course, are segregated into their own little community as pitting mouse and keyboard players against controller players would be cruel.)

The introduction of PUBG Crossplay for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is part of Update 4.3, the latest patch to deploy to consoles. Of course, the devs haven't just slapped the feature onto the game without giving us a few extra options to tweak.

PUBG Crossplay Provides Player Choice

There are a few other items of note when you're heading off against opponents from another console. The first is that a "Cross-party" feature hasn't yet been implemented which is kind of a downer for people who were looking forward to teaming up. However, Cross-party is going to be developed and more details about it will be shared at a later date.

Players will be listed on the game's scoreboard and leaderboards with an icon showing which console they're playing on. The icon will even be available in the kill feed, something that is surely going to pour some gasoline on the Xbox One vs. PlayStation 4 rivalry.

Of course, PUBG Crossplay can be disabled in the options if you want to stay within your own ecosystem. Simply head over to the Settings menu, go into Gameplay, and then go into General Settings. If a queue takes a crazily long time with Crossplay off, a prompt will give you the option to immediately turn it on in order to reduce your queue times.

This isn't all that came with today's patch; be sure to read the full Update 4.3 patch notes for all the fine details.

What do you think of PUBG Crossplay finally arriving for the PS4 and Xbox One? Do you think PC players should be able to join in? Let us know in the comments below!
