Krafton Inc. has revealed the revenue generated by battle-royal PUBG and their other titles, and it is no small number. Coming in at a whopping $729.5 million USD within the first quarter of 2022, PUBG specifically is ranked second in sales amongst all other mobile games currently available.

PUBG has been the talk of the town for years, almost as much as Fortnite has. The game has only increased significantly in popularity year by year, and Krafton Inc. has made it known just how insanely popular this game has become. In just the first quarter of 2022, PUBG has managed to acquire $338.4 million USD in net profits, which is absolutely massive. But why is the game so popular?

PUBG was released four years ago now, but its popularity is steadily growing due to the sheer amount of updates and new content the game receives constantly. When a game keeps growing and expanding in the best of ways, it's easy for players to get lost in the world that is the battle royal. The devs keep this content fresh by using several IP collaborations consistently, so there truly is no lack of content for the game to utilize and release. On top of that, PUBG is cross-platform for Xbox and PlayStation console users, which adds even more players to the game.

The game also just recently converted to a free-to-play model in 2022, reigning in more players than ever before. To be exact, there are more than 80,000 new players joining in on the action every day. More users obviously means more revenue, and there is no shortage of players within the world of PUBG.

More so, we have the approaching launch of The Callisto Protocol, a survival horror game that is also being brought to us by Krafton in December of 2022. Seeing as how successful their battle royal has become, one can only assume this new addition to their catalog of games will be a smash hit as well. The Callisto Protocol takes players deep within the depths of The Black Iron Prison, where they will need to carefully and strategically uncover the secrets held within Jupiter’s dead moon, which is where this prison resides.

The game takes place in the year 2320 when a mysterious outbreak causes a massive uproar within the prison walls. Jacob Lee, the main character in the story, is an inmate here and must come face-to-face with the flesh-hungry mongrels that have now overtaken the lands, all while traversing a vast and unforgiving wastelands.

The Callisto Protocol will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows on December 2, 2022. PUBG is available now on Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia.
