Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games have given a release window for their upcoming story-rich sci-fi game, Fort Solis.

The single-player third-person thriller was first announced in late 2022 during Summer Game Fest, when fans got a sneak peek of what was to come via a reveal trailer. At the time, there wasn't much information on the upcoming title, other than what was apparent from the trailer. One thing we did in fact learn at the reveal was that Troy Baker from The Last of Us and Roger Clark from Red Dead Redemption would be taking on the lead roles within the game.

Today, we get a release window, and though it isn't a set release date, it is progress nonetheless. As of writing, it appears the game will only be available on PC via Steam and is set to release sometime during Quarter 2 of 2023.

Fort Solis takes place on Mars, where alarms have been sounded from a base located nearby the main character, Jack Leary. The engineer is used to these types of alarms, and initially thinks nothing of it until he arrives on the scene to find the neighboring crew missing without a trace. As Jack investigates, monumental storms roll in, keeping him stuck inside the barren base until the morning, when he learns that something is very wrong here and begins to uncover the story as to what happened to the crew of Fort Solis.

Players will be able to explore the base, find clues about the missing engineers, listen to audio logs, check surveillance tapes, and piece together a mystery that must be solved as quickly as possible. The developers say that this game is teeming with emotional story-telling and can induce fear without needing jumpscares.
