It is extremely hard to believe that today marks the 20th anniversary of Ratchet and Clank, but it's true. After 20 years of traveling through space and time, it appears The Great Clock is right, and to celebrate the PS3 versions of the game will be added to PlayStation Plus this month.
Ratchet and Clank is iconic in the sense that most people born in the 90s have played it as kids. Originally introduced on the PlayStation 2 console in 2002, the third-person shooter sported not only action-packed fun, but it just captivated you. Something about traveling through both space and time to constantly save the universe from impending doom was just so intriguing. The strange and exotic weapons in the game were an amazing addition, as they truly made you feel like you were in on the action blasting enemies with never-before-seen technology. Not only were the weapons powerful, but they were so over the top with the animations and crazy abilities, it kept people wanting more.
Luckily, Insomniac Games has decided that it is time to bring the series back around and release some of the previously released old-gen games onto PlayStation Plus. On November 15, 2022, several PS3 versions of the game will be heading to the masses. This includes Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked, and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. There are quite a few games from the series already available on PlayStation Plus, including the gravity-defying Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.
New Armor sets in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Not only will the old-gen games be headed to PlayStation Plus, but Insomniac Games has announced a brand new armor pack for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This armor pack is completely free in light of its 20th anniversary and will include five different armors inspired by different games throughout the history of the franchise. This includes Clank Armor, Holoflux Armor, Commando Armor, Marauder Armor, and Quest Armor.
