The tactical RPG Phantom Brigade has been in early access for a long time, but its full release is finally upon us.
The game entered early access on the Epic Games Store quite a while ago with a final release scheduled for 2021. While it didn't quite make it in time for that, it is arriving to the finishing line soon. The full release for PC will be on February 28, and it'll also make the jump to Steam alongside its original spot on the EGS.
The upcoming 1.0 version seems really promising, bringing hybrid gameplay between real-time and turn-based tactical RPG topped by an interesting story that will see players retake their homeland against a cruel invader while in command of a rogue squad of mecha pilots. The Valkyria Chronicles vibes are strong with this one, and I'm all for it.
Like the best mecha games, you can scavenge parts and enjoy plenty of customization for your robots, including weapons, gear, and even cosmetic elements. Destructible environments and a highly mod-friendly approach complete a very promising picture.
