Today, Other Ocean Group announced that Project Winter's Open Beta would be released tomorrow through February 3, with its Early Access Release on February 7.
Project Winter is an 8-person multiplayer social deception and survival game where players have to work together in order to complete tasks. These tasks include gathering resources, surviving the elements (including animals such as grizzly bears), and repairing buildings. Players are randomly assigned two roles: Traitor and Survivor. Each player will be armed with walkie-talkies that can work from a distance, which will be needed as the Traitors gain strength as the match progresses. Each role has one goal: the Survivors are trying to escape and the Traitors are trying to stop them by any means necessary.
In order to escape, the Survivors must work together, completing a sequence of tasks in order to call in one of several rescue vehicles. The Traitors will lie and do anything to split the group into separate factions.
For those who prefer a controller, Project Winter offers full controller support.

Project Winter will be released on February 7 in Early Access and will have an Open Beta from February 1-3.
Quick TakeThis premise reminds me a lot of Werewolf and Throne of Lies, which I pumped nearly 60 hours into. While there is sure to be a lot of trolls hoping to ruin the experience, the game looks promising enough that I will definitely give it a chance when the title's Open Beta is released tomorrow. Hopefully, the gameplay loop is divergent enough so that it doesn't get boring after a few successful games, but we'll see.
What do you think of this game? Which role would you want to play? Let us know in the comments!
