Fallout: New Vegas is a bit of a cult classic among the Bethesda-era Fallout games, and it still sees plenty of modding efforts to this day. One recently-released mod known as Project Mojave is an Early Access mod looking to recreate the game in the engine used by Fallout 4.

Project Mojave is the work of four different users: HcG x Grill, TheFriedTurkey, C411um13, and MrColonelMustard. Uploaded last Saturday by GrilledTurkey (a shared account for Grill and TheFriedTurkey,) this mod is an Early Access look at the team's passion project.

The project so far is the culmination of four months of work and currently gives players access to about a quarter of the Mojave Wasteland, along with some updated features from Fallout 4, such as creating and maintaining settlements. To travel to the Mojave Wastelands, players have to go south from Breakheart Banks in the Commonwealth until they get a quest trigger to examine a dead Institute scientist.

The New Vegas strip in Project Mojave

As for what the mod offers, players can gear up with over 20 new weapons and 50+ apparel items as they explore the Mojave Wasteland. The explorable area comes with three player homes, four settlements, and a full remake of the New Vegas strip, complete with three functional casinos. Players roaming the wastes can also come across ten custom creatures, including three brand new ones.

It's worth noting that all of the 800+ assets in this mod are remade and brand-new, which should offer the mod some protection against DMCA claims. If you have any other Fallout 4 mods by GrilledTurkey installed, they won't interfere with Project Mojave, as all of the items and creatures in that area are Mojave-specific and won't spawn in the Commonwealth.

You can download Project Mojave at its Nexus Mods page here, along with a list of the mods required to make it work. Meanwhile, another in-development mod known as Fallout 4 New Vegas is also looking to recreate New Vegas in the Fallout 4 Creation Engine.
