Project DT has been revealed by Chinese-based developer Digital Sky and it looks like a pretty cool game. Simply put, this developer's first AAA game essentially mashes up Metal Gear with NieR Automata.

You've probably never heard of Digitalsky or Digisky before. That shouldn't come as a surprise; it's a Chinese game developer that's largely focused on making mobile games. Its next project, however, looks like a serious step up in terms of scale.

Project DT Shows a Lot of Promise

The success of games like BayonettaDevil May Cry, and Nier: Automata show that there's definitely a market for this high-speed style of action gameplay and Project DT looks like it could fit into the genre nicely. The announcement of Project DT was reported by Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel "ZhugeEX" Ahmad (via ResetEra).

Project DT is still in development, but we can glean some facts about the game from the above trailer. An on-screen letter rank is prominently featured much like Devil May Cry, indicating that players are going to want to aim for flashy and intense combos. The player character largely seems to focus on melee attacks rather than any kind of ranged weaponry. There's definitely a fair amount of aerial maneuverability here, too — the player character is shown air-dashing to the side at several point when fighting a large mechanical walker.

Unfortunately, that's about all we know for now. It looks like there's still a ways to go before it's released — as always, keep in mind that anything and everything can change in the course of game development.

Digital Sky is currently recruiting additional talent to work on the game. No release date has been announced, nor have the developers indicated whether or not this game will come to the West.
