Fans of racing games, rejoice. Bandai Namco announced that Project Cars 2, the sequel to the acclaimed title from 2015, will come out in all physical and digital stores later this year. The second title of the series will continue the legacy of its predecessor by improving every aspect of the game and further expanding its already numerous options. New tracks, modes and, of course, a big array of new vehicles will be available in Project Cars 2.

Project Cars distinguished itself from the competition by putting a particular attention in the technical compartment. The game featured excellent graphical fidelity and outstanding visuals, making it one of the best games available at the time if you were in need of some eye-candy. Project Cars 2 aims to be even more graphically impressive, offering to the players improved graphics, VR support and the possibility to play it in 12K on PC ( achievable using three 4K monitors side by side to obtain a panoramic view). Bandai Namco promises that Project Cars 2 will be "The most immersive and technically advanced racing simulator experience".

Slightly Mad Studios is hard at work to pack Project Cars 2 with tons of new features and content, some of which have been widely requested by the fans. 170 cars and more than 60 tracks will be present in the game. New racing disciplines will be present in the new game (ice, mud, and snow for example) and an Online Championship mode will be included as well, which many fans of the original title will be happy of considering it was a feature missing from the first game. Project Cars 2 will also feature an improved version of the MADNESS engine, featuring Livetrack 3.0 which will offer dynamic real-time weather conditions, track surface conditions and realistic grip/wear simulation.

Project Cars 2 will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC in late 2017.

Do you own the original Project Cars? Will you pick up the sequel? Let us know in the comments.
