We've known for quite a while about Project Bluestreak from the original Gears of War lead designer Cliff Bleszinski's new company Boss Key Productions. We've also known for a while that it will be a Free to Play Sci-Fi Arena Shooter on PC. Now we know the title of the game, LawBreakers, as well as a bit more information.
LawBreakers is a team-based FPS set in an alternate future, where the world has been divided into two faction following an event known as "The Shattering" that changed gravity forever. The world eventually recovered, bringing with it a new technological advancements that allow people to manipulate gravity. There is also a supplement that gives superhuman abilities. Now those two factions mentioned before fight for control—one an organization charged with upholding the law, the other a syndicate of crime attempting to break the law. Players get to choose a side, and you may have guessed, either Law or Breakers.
Check out the live action video below, which sets up the LawBreakers universe:
Also released was another video that is extremely similar to a teaser released for PAX East a few months ago—so similar some might say it was the same. However, if you take a look at about 28 seconds in, you should see some debris floating in the background. What does it mean exactly? Who knows. It may just be a way to show off the crazy gravity after "The Shattering."
LawBreakers will be at PAX Prime featuring a playable map and four characters from the game. The first gameplay trailer will be released Aug 28th at 9:00 a.m. EDT.
