Introversion Games' solemn strategy game Prison Architect turned out to be one of the success stories coming out of Steam's Early Access program and one that has continued down that path of success since. The game got a bunch of content updates after the official 1.0 release in October of last year, with the game also showing up on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One recently.

Since the game saw its first release as a pre-alpha on Steam, Prison Architect has managed to generate a whopping 25 million dollars in revenue, with the most recent Steam Summer Sale turning out to be the most profitable sale for Prison Architect and its developer introversion Games, bringing the total sales to over 2 million units sold. This number is probably higher now since the game made its debut on current-gen consoles this week.

Recent updates have added a ton of new features to the already content-heavy game, with players now able to reenact their favorite bits from Orange Is the New Black by building a women's prison, added new weather conditions to the game that had you take into consideration temperature while you're building your facility and numerous fixes and features were added to the game's build mode to give players even more control over how their facility looks and runs. It wouldn't at all be surprising if Introversion Games are done supporting this game either, so new features will probably make their way into the game at some point in the not too distant future.

We recently the reviewed the PlayStation 4 version of the game, which you can check out by going here

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
