Are you ready to manage your own Prehistoric Kingdom? You can soon, as the Prehistoric Kingdom release date onto Steam's Early Access program is in just two weeks: April 27, 2022 for $29.99. There will be a full Early Access trailer released on April 21st, so if you are super interested in managing extinct animals then you should probably mark your calendar for that date.
As for what you can do in Prehistoric Kingdom, it looks and sounds pretty similar to games like Jurassic World Evolution 2. Players can manage and decorate the habitats their creatures need by growing jungles, carving rivers, and raising mountains to create the perfect park. Players won't have to just care for the extinct critters as well, because as park manager players will develop infrastructure to care for the guests and staff as well. Players will also be able to breed a diverse selection of extinct wildlife by finding new creatures and genetic skins by discovering genetic material from around the world. This means that if you want to customize your Woolly Mammoth or Tyrannosaurus rex you'll be able to.
If this game sounds familiar, that's because it was on Kickstarter last year. The pre-alpha demo back then had 4 creatures, 30+ placeable decorations and buildings, drivable vehicles, basic animal care, and basic resource management. That's not too bad for a demo, and you'd think that there will be a lot more that's available during Early Access, right? Hopefully. We'll see.
