It's time to get those potions brewing and the magic flowing, as Potion Craft has a new update that completely overhauls the Water Alchemy map, and adds new items and features but has a downside too. You're previous save data will not be coming along for the ride.
The crafting sim had a major overhaul update today, which included a complete redesign of the Water alchemy map. A new oil base was also added, and it has its own dedicated map. Speaking of maps, there have been a few mechanics added to the maps as well, including a teleporting vortex, map borders, swampy areas, and more. The devs also made sure to add new effects to the game and add quests that are based on those new effects. With the quest and map updates comes new items as well, such as new salts to use, like Moon Salt, Sun Salt, and Philosopher's Salt.

This update is jam-packed with interesting content for players to enjoy, but yes, it does have a "downside" so to speak. Players who install the update will lose all of their previous saved data, meaning any progress you made before the update is null and void.
For those who may not be ready to start fresh, there is the option to stay within the previous version via the Steams Beta tab in the settings menu on the games page in your library. But, that also means that you won't have access to the new content, so it's kind of a double-edged sword. It is also worth noting that the developers do state that there will be bugs and some glitches here and there until they are ready to release the full version of the game. They are using this time before full release to gather data from players in order to fix the most bugs they can prior to launch but say that they will patch what they can along the way as well.
