Postal 4: No Regerts - Main Title

Running With Scissors' long-running, often controversial, series Postal has hit Steam with a new entry today. Postal 4: No Regerts is breaking new ground in several ways. As well as being the first game in the series to be released into early access, the standard Postal formula will be switched up, offering new ways of playing, a new town to explore your way through and a pretty massive casting change.

The previous main entry in the series, Postal 3, met with less than favorable reviews from fans and critics alike. After admitting that many of the problems stemmed from the mistake of outsourcing the game to a Russian developer and publisher, Running WIth Scissors apologized with some great DLC for Postal 2 as well as Postal Redux, both of which saw more favorable review. The developers have decided to keep the production of Postal 4 completely in house, as well as poking a little self-deprecating fun at themselves. Vince Desi, founder of Running With Scissors, said “We want to make sure we don’t pump a dump (aka Postal III) here, so we’re including the fans. We work for them, and I want them to be involved from now to completion.” With the greater focus on community input hopefully Postal 4: No Regerts will be more what the community has in mind for the series.

Another huge change for Postal 4 is going to be in the character of the POSTAL dude, who from the newest entry onwards will be voiced by industry veteran voice actor Jon St.John. Famous for his role as Duke Nukem, he is certain to bring a certain amount of gravitas to the black-comedy games' main character. At the time of writing the Steam release of Postal 4 is very early in its production cycle. At Running With Scissors' own admission the game currently only features a very small amount of the 'Monday' gameplay, missing key features such as co-op, and is still in much need of optimization. Regardless of its current state Running With Scissors promises that Postal 4: No Regerts is going to bring the series back to it's offensive, satirical roots, following the work the team has done with the Postal 2: Paradise Lost DLC and Postal Redux. Check out the trailer below to decide for yourself.
