The Spiral Scouts, a new game from the developer of HuniePop, will be releasing on PC on May 31, 2018, according to a tweet from the game's developer.

Fans of HuniePop were treated to some good news in October of last year - a sequel was in development. The first game was generally a success, so it wasn't much of surprise to see it get a sequel. However, the developer also announced that another game called The Spiral Scouts was in the works and would release sometime in 2018. That time has now been announced as May 31, 2018.

The Spiral Scouts will likely not be marketed under the HuniePot brand. While the studio's first game was a decidedly Not Safe For Work game that combined Match 3 gameplay with dating sim elements, The Spiral Scouts will not be featuring any graphical adult content. The game is a puzzle-adventure game that is a collaboration between the developer of HuniePop and a longtime friend of his. Players will be able to earn scout badges by exploring three distinct worlds in the game.

The art in The Spiral Scouts is done in a style akin to that of a pop-up book - scenes are created as completely flat images which are "popped up" when the game is actually played. The developer showed off some behind-the-scenes images of this design process on his Twitter:

Players can earn 30 badges and solve over 50 puzzles in The Spiral Scouts, all while meeting a cast of ridiculous characters. The game was originally intended to release sometime in late 2017, but complications with development pushed the release into early 2018. If you're down for some adorable puzzle game action with an interesting art style, you can pick up The Spiral Scouts on PC on May 31, 2018.

What do you think of The Spiral Scouts? Does the art style appeal to you? What do you hope to see in the game? Let us know in the comments below!

I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
