Pokemon Sun and Moon Black Friday

The Pokémon Bank update for Pokemon Sun and Moon is now live according to The Pokemon Company.

Pokémon Bank is a downloadable 3DS application and online subscription service that allows Pokémon trainers to withdraw and deposit their beloved creatures across various titles. In addition to Pokémon Sun and Moon, it is natively compatible with Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega RubyPokémon Alpha Sapphire. A second application, Poké Transporter, further extends the compatibility to Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black and White 2. Trainers are also able to transfer their creatures through Virtual Console titles for the original generation of Pokémon games (Pokémon RedPokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow) due to their re-release on the Nintendo 3DS.

Aside from adding the latest Pokémon titles to the service, this update has added two new features. The first is a Pokédex which allows players to see information on the hundreds of Pokémon in the game all in one handy location. The second feature is Adventure Records. Adventure Records is a sort of statistics page that will allow players to look back at their past exploits in all of the Pokémon games that they've linked to the service such as the number of Pokémon caught.

Players who deposit Pokémon into the Pokémon Bank can receive Poké Miles depending on the number of creatures they've deposited and how long they've been deposited for. These Poké Miles can be redeemed as Battle Points, a currency that can be used to purchase items in Pokémon Sun and Moon. This means that players who have been using the service for some time will be able to rack up a lot of items in Pokémon Sun and Moon once they've linked the game and redeemed their Poké Miles for Battle Points.

Players who access the Pokémon Bank between January 25, 2017, and October 2, 2017, will also receive a "Mewnium Z" Z Crystal. This crystal will allow Mew to learn the Z-Move Genesis Supernova.

Do you use the Pokémon Bank? If not, would you use it if it were free instead of a subscription service? How do you feel Pokémon Sun and Moon stacks up against the previous titles in the Pokémon franchise? Let us know in the comments below!
