Nintendo has released a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer that shows off some new stuff present in the games. New features include the ability to craft your own TMs, as well as a minigame that has you making sandwiches, a brand new evolution for Girafarig, and more.

As we draw closer to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date of November 18th, more and more info is being released about the games. Recently, we got a look at new 'mons Wiglett and Grafaiai, and now, thanks to the new trailer, Nintendo has revealed a brand new creature: Farigiraf, an evolution for Girafarig. Its head and tail have "become one", and both of its brains are now connected through nerves. Who said Pokemon wasn't a horror franchise? We can also see several as-yet unannounced Pokemon by looking at the player's minimap during the Artazon reveal section of the trailer, but those haven't been officially revealed yet.

Farigiraf's ability, Cud Chew, is new to the series; it allows the cute 'mon to eat a second Berry at the end of its turn if you've already eaten one this turn. Another new ability, Armor Tail, was also revealed, wherein opposing Pokemon can't use priority moves.

Uhh..."aww", I think?

As well as these new 'mons, we also got a look at how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet TMs will work. Unlike the most recent games, TMs will be single-use once again, but now you can craft your own using materials dropped by wild Pokemon (as well as a resource called League Points, which you'll earn during the story or by trading in crafting materials). The trailer shows off a trainer crafting an Icy Wind TM, then teaching it to a Drifloon.

It's not just TMs you'll be able to build, either. A new Picnic feature lets you take some time out to relax with your Pokemon and hang out with them; you can clean them if they've gotten dirty from your journey, and you can play with them as well. You might also find Pokemon eggs in your little picnic basket when you embark on a picnic with your team. If you're playing multiplayer via the Union Circle feature, you can also hang out with your friends at a Picnic, or they can come join yours.

As part of the Picnic feature, you can also make sandwiches that will grant your team benefits like increased XP or a higher chance of catching certain Pokemon types. It's essentially Pokemon Sword and Shield's Curry system, but with added buffs. Rather amusingly, sandwich creation can actually fail; if you add too many ingredients, your sandwich won't hold together, and the whole thing could fall apart.

It is almost time to make the ultimate sandwich.

The trailer also showed off Terastallizing Pokemon in the wild. Sometimes, you'll come across glowing Pokemon, and if you battle them, you'll see that they Terastallize. They'll keep that Teratype if you catch them, so it's worth seeking out glowing 'mons in the wild and trying to add them to your collection.

There's lots more in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, including a look at the three individual stories you'll be able to experience in the games, so be sure to give it a look below if you want to see everything that's new. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch for Nintendo Switch on November 18th.
