Junichi Masudo took the stage at the Pokémon Press Conference to announce GameFreak's next plans for the series.
The new game is Pokémon Home, a new service for the Nintendo Switch and smartphones. The game will allow several different games to connect to it, including Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sword/Shield, and Pokémon Lets Go! Pikachu/Eevee. You'll be able to store and interact with any of your Pokemon from any of those games, and will also be able to trade with other players.
Pokémon Home will launch in early 2020.
