Pokérus, a band focused on video game music and led by Patricio Thielemann, has announced their plans to prepare a double album full of Pokémon music titled PokéMemories to celebrate 20 years of Pokémon, which released for the first time in Japan February of 1996. PokéMemories plans to include music from the original games—Red, Green, Blue—all the way up to the newest releases in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

It plans to have the first volume released February 27th, 2016, which is the same day Pokémon Red and Green were released in Japan. Volume two is planning on releasing later in the year.
Pokérus is an experiemental/progressive rock group that focuses primarily on covering music from video games. Thielemann has personally traveled throughout Chile performing music from The Legend of Zelda, God of War, Phoenix Wright, and Final Fantasy. Here is what he wants to make PokéMemories:
I don't hope for 'PokéMemories' to be the ultimate arrangement album of the franchise, but to become my own personal way to pay tribute to so many good memories and friendships that Pokémon has given to me ... Celebrating the 20 years of Pokémon in this way is the best I can do in order to thank for the good and bad moments, chances and friendships that the franchise has given to me, and above all, everything Pokémon means to me as a Gamer as well as a person.
More info on PokéMemories should be available when the crowdfunding campaign begins on September 8th. Their press release promises interesting rewards for backers as well.
